I visited the Canadian Rockies in 2015 and immediately fell in love with the landscape. There’s just something about the mountains. Maybe it’s their grandiose appearance or how they have a way of intimidating you upon first glance. I think what I love the most is how they have a way of making you feel so small in their presence.
The alpine lakes are beautiful displaying their surreal brilliant turquoise colour. At first you might think the secret is a mix of blue-green Kool-Aid but you later learn that the colour is the result of refraction of light off of rock flour deposited in the waters. Whatever the reason, the colour is breathtaking.
There’s something special about the wildlife found in the national parks. Untamed. It’s as though they have a sense of peace. Maybe that peace comes from knowing that for the most part, they are protected.
There’s so much to explore. There’s no shortage of beauty among the national parks.
