I visited Vancouver Island in 2016 and didn’t know what to expect. I quickly learned how much beauty the island has to offer.
The grandeur of the endless Pacific Ocean. This was my first introduction to the ocean and I quickly fell in love. It’s wild to think that the Pacific Ocean occupies about a third of the surface of the globe. It’s difficult to comprehend its full capacity and potential.
The Pacific Ocean is home to a multitude of marine species: humpbacks, orcas, steller sea lions, harbour seals, and pacific white-sided dolphins to name a few. I was fortunate enough to spend time with these majestic creatures and I can honestly say that these are some of my fondest memories.
Who knew we had rainforests in Canada. Lush rainforests that make you feel as though you’re in the middle of the jungle. Giant old-growth fir and cedar forests, soft hanging moss and ferns galore. Enchanting.
The beauty and tranquillity of the island is incredible. It’s truly a place that must be experienced, I promise it will steal a piece of your heart.
